MESSAGE FROM CENTRE MANAGER

2025 has proven to be another record-breaking year for our centre, with exceptional visitation numbers and sales performance throughout the period. The end of year trading periods was particularly impressive, with Black Friday attracting over 50,000 visits and Boxing Day seeing a record breaking 95,000+ visits, demonstrating the strong appeal of our retail offering. 

We extend our sincere gratitude to all our hardworking retail staff who contributed to this success, and special recognition goes to those who assisted with managing the parking demands during these peak trading days. 

As we look ahead to 2026, we're excited to announce an even more dynamic year on the horizon. Watch this space for details about proposed mall upgrades that will further enhance the shopping experience for our valued customers. 

Our new digital signage has already been embraced by several retailers, providing eye-catching promotional opportunities. However, spaces remain available for both static and digital advertising representation. Retailers interested in capitalising on this marketing opportunity are encouraged to contact our Retail Manager Tara to discuss the available options and secure their preferred positioning. 

WELCOME TO THE TEAM

We're delighted to introduce two new members to our centre management team.

Alex Rayner joins us as Assistant Finance Manager. Alex will be working closely with the finance team to support the centre's continued growth and success.

Toni Purser has come on board as Operations Assistant, where she'll play a key role in supporting our day-to-day operations and ensuring the centre runs smoothly for our retailers and customers alike.

PET FRIENDLY STORES

Our shopping centre continues to welcome pets, providing a more inclusive and enjoyable experience for our customers and their furry companions.

By now everyone should have received a memo with an optional pet friendly shopfront decal. These decals can be displayed on your storefront to signal to customers that pets are welcome inside your tenancy.

Additionally, we are excited to announce we have recently installed two water stations in the centre that also double as a water station for our furry friends. These are located outside Polo Ralph Lauren and Ripcurl.

RETAIL & OPERATIONS UPDATE

Friendly Housekeeping Reminders

As we start the new year, here are some important housekeeping reminders to help keep our Centre running smoothly.

Security – There has been an increase in frequency of tenancies and storage containers being left unsecured overnight. Please ensure all doors and openings are locked or shut securely, whenever the premises are unoccupied.

Signs – Sticker decals must be removed if damaged, peeling or bubbling etc. Printed paper signs are not permitted to be adhered to shopfronts or columns.

Deliveries and pallets – Please remind your delivery drivers of the Centre Rules. Unless an exemption has been granted by Centre Management, pallets are not permitted for deliveries. All goods must be unloaded in designated loading docks, and pallets must be removed from site immediately after unloading.

Back of House, Fire Corridors & Rubbish – Now that peak period is over, we wanted to remind you that service and fire corridors in the Centre are not to be used for storage of rubbish, waste, cartons, boxes, tables, fixtures or fittings. If you require storage space, please contact Tara Finlen to request details on availability. Waste and rubbish must be removed to the loading dock and disposed of in the waste and recycle bins provided. If bins are full, please find a bin with space, in a different location. Rubbish is not to be left beside the bins, at any time.

Staff Car Parking – Designated staff parking is provided in sections of the Western and Southern carpark. Harbour Town staff are not to park in car spaces set aside for Centre customers. Please ensure licence plate numbers for all new and current staff vehicles are provided to Centre Management. Please notify Centre Management when staff members leave so their registrations can be removed.

Afterhours Contacts - Please notify Centre Management of any changes to the emergency/afterhours contact for your store. It is imperative that we have accurate and up to date contact details.

Smoking – Smoking of cigarettes or vaping devices or any form of tobacco or similar substance, is not permitted anywhere throughout the centre, including loading docks and back of house areas.

RETAILER OPPORTUNITIES

Pylon signage - Our new pylon signs located on Brisbane Rd and Oxley Dr are now live. These signs are located in high traffic areas with exposure to thousands of commuters, customers, and tourists daily. If you are interested in static or digital advertising, please reach out to Tara Finlen at tara.finlen@lewisland.com for more information.

Storage – We have some storage opportunities available. The number of retailers who are utilising the back of house corridors to place or process stock/boxes/fixtures, would indicate there is a high demand for storage, and this will be a major focus moving forward. If you are interested in securing offsite storage space, please reach out to Tara Finlen at tara.finlen@lewisland.com for rates and locations.

TOURISM UPDATE

It’s been a busy and exciting few months in the tourism space at Harbour Town with the launch of our new Tourism Lounge. As many retailers will have noticed in-centre, international visitation continues to strengthen, with an increase of more than 11% from early July 2025 through to December 2025 YoY.

With Lunar New Year fast approaching, we’re looking forward to welcoming even more visitors and will soon be sharing further details on our in-centre Lion Dance performances and Lunar New Year Gift with Purchase promotion.

There’s also positive news on the aviation front, with China Southern Airlines announcing a major expansion of its services between Guangzhou and Brisbane. The airline will increase to double daily flights during the peak 2025/26 summer travel season, further supporting inbound visitation to the Gold Coast and Harbour Town.

CHRISTMAS RECAP

Gift Wrapping and Charity
Our gift-wrapping station was managed by The Gold Coast Hospital Foundation and this year we raised a total of $10,168. Harbour Town's owners donated $10,000 in cash and toys to Friends with Dignity to support their Toy Drive, delivering toys to children who would have otherwise gone without.

Christmas Entertainment
Our famous Summer Santa cruised the centre in his boardies, taking free selfies with shoppers and spreading Christmas cheer. Along with Santa, customers were entertained by our snowy nights at Harbour Town Eats Plaza.

Advertising
You may have spotted our outdoor billboards encouraging customers to shop savvy this festive season, or several digital ads when scrolling through social media. Additionally, thousands of local listeners heard Harbour Town on SeaFM or Hot Tomato throughout the festive season. We also appeared on Channel Seven and Channel Nine News Gold Coast, Inside Gold Coast and more!

Thank you for your hard work and dedication during what turned out to be an exceptional Christmas trading period. Boxing Day was our busiest day on record, with outstanding foot traffic throughout the centre. The entire festive season delivered strong results, and this success is a direct reflection of the effort your teams put in during one of the most demanding times of the year. We appreciate your partnership and the service you provided to our customers throughout this period. Looking forward to continuing to work together in 2026.

LOOKING AHEAD

Lunar New Year 
Harbour Town will celebrate Lunar New Year as we bring in the Year of the Horse. Enjoy cultural lion and dragon dance performances in-Centre on February 21 & 22. 

Plus, customers who spend $50 or more in a single transaction at participating stores will be eligible to claim a free Harbour Town x Lunar New Year Keyring. The gift with purchase will commence on Saturday 21 February until stocks last.
